About Us

The Seaforth Progress & Sports Association Inc was formed in 1998 as a result of the amalgamation of the Seaforth Progress Association Inc and the Seaforth Country Club Inc.  Originally, the Seaforth Progress Association was established in the 1950’s.

Membership is available to residents from Mt Jukes to Seaforth including the Ball Bay, Haliday Bay and Cape Hillsborough areas.

General meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday each month at 5.30pm in the Seaforth Community Hall.

The Association has a long and successful history of supporting the community and undertaking fundraising activities that contribute to building infrastructure in the community for residents and visitors to the area.

The Association lobbies Local, State and Federal Government for fundraising to improve facilities and services for the residents of our area. The Police Beat is a result of our efforts.  Over the years we have been able to provide worthwhile facilities including the Seaforth Community Hall, the Jim Adams Memorial Playground, the Pictorial History of Seaforth display, the multi-purpose court, the BMX track and the Undercover Recreational Facility at the Sports Ground.

Since the early 1990’s, our Association has produced a local newsletter  (Hibiscus Herald) that is currently distributed to 1,000 households each month. The newsletter provides the opportunity for new local businesses and services to advertise. We also produce a Tourist Information brochure and have been the convenors of the weekly Sunday Markets for 24 years.

We have also sponsored other community groups to allow them access to various funding opportunities.
